snowy frankfurt

DSC02471 Like most of Northern Europe, the last few weeks have brought a white-out to Frankfurt, covering everything with a beautifying layer of white, from the pretty residential buildings in Westend to the skyscrapers, trees and street lights, even old Vespas left out in the snow. DSC02476DSC02474
And as always, especially pretty was the small historic section of town, where snow covered the rooftops of the St. Nikolai church and the Rathaus.DSC02485 DSC02489

And while snow always brings with it frostier temperatures, they were actually a relief from the weeks of grey and rain which we now seem to be returning to… When does spring start again?

  1. The snowfall makes the city looks so romantic! On an unrelated note, the word “Rathaus” makes me giggle every time I see it.

    • I still think “Rathaus” is funny and I’ve been here a while… the fact that “schmuck” really means jewelry too 🙂 What can I say, German is not known for its beauty as a language…
